Easy Teriyaki Tofu

- 1 block extra firm tofu
- 2 tablespoons neutral oil for frying
- 2 Stalks of scallion for garnish
- 2 tablespoons green seasoning or salt free all purpose seasoning
Teriyaki sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 ½ tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave
- 2-3 tablespoons dark soy sauce
- ¼ cup water
- 4 cloves of minced garlic
- ½ teaspoon ginger freshly minced
- 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
Cut tofu into cubes and season in a resealable container/bag.
Pour flour into the bag and shake until all the tofu pieces are evenly coated.
Add oil to the skillet over medium heat.
Fry tofu cubes on each side for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove tofu from heat and place them on a paper towel lined plate.
In the same pan, add ginger, garlic, and tomato paste. Stir continuously for 2 minutes to prevent burning. Pour in the remaining ingredients and bring to a slow simmer for 3-5 minutes.
Toss the crispy fried tofu into the teriyaki sauce and remove from heat.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds/toasted sesame seeds and serve warm.
